HABAKKUK

Hab 3 CIRCUMSTANCES
Sunday, July 4, 2021.

Habakkuk 3:18

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior: God had warned Habakkuk that He would use Babylon to destroy His people Hab 1:6. Even though that upset Habakkuk he realized that God was Sovereign and was willing to trust in the future circumstances Hab 3:16 knowing that God in the end would deliver them Ro 8:28.

Application: We are presently experiencing Satanic wickedness in our world but we have confidence that the ending of this story will be Jesus’ victory and our deliverance from evil. So, we need to do as Habakkuk did and rejoice in the Lord despite our present circumstances.

Hab 2 FAITHFULNESS
Saturday, July 3, 2021.

Habakkuk 2:4

See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright—but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness: God distinguished between two groups of people—evil and faithful. The faithful person will live a righteous life while the evil one has evil desires and will live out what is in his heart. God will give to each his just reward Ro 2:6.

Application: The self-righteous will appear faithful on the outside but his inner motives will not deceive God Gal 6:7,8.

Hab 1 UNSEARCHABLE JUDGMENTS
Friday, July 2, 2021.

Habakkuk 1:13

Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?: Habakkuk acknowledged that God was righteous but wondered why God was allowing evil to go unchecked. God responded by telling Habakkuk that He would use Babylon to punish Hab 1:6 His people’s evil actions Isa 55:8.

Application: Let us not be discouraged when we see evil winning for the Lord will give justice to all in His time Col 3:25.

HOLY TO THE LORD
