WHAT A FRIEND

WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

ON THE CROSS HE TOOK AWAY OUR SINS

SCORNED AND REJECTED WHILE HE HUNG DYING

TO GIVE US LIFE HE ROSE AGAIN

WHAT A FRIEND, WHAT A FRIEND

FAITHFUL TO THE VERY END

SUCH A LOVE, OH SUCH A LOVE

DEAR LORD WE’RE SO UNWORTHY OF

WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

GAVE US FREEDOM FROM GUILT AND SHAME

A SACRIFICE FOREVER PERFECT

ALL HEAVEN EXALTS HIS HOLY NAME

CHORUS

WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

OUR TRANSGRESSIONS FELL ON HIM

THERE IS NO LAW TO CONDEMN US

BY FAITH IN CHRIST WE’LL RISE AGAIN

CHORUS 2X

WHAT A FRIEND

The woman with the blood issue for twelve years was desperate and believed that if she could touch Jesus’ cloak she would be healed. As soon as she touched His hem her bleeding stopped and she was healed. When Jesus inquired who touched him, his disciples reminded Jesus that all the people were crowding Him. So why were others not healed who came into contact with Jesus?
Jesus is the door to healing but faith is the key that opens that door (Mt 17:20). A doubting faith will not receive anything from the Lord (Jas 1:6,7). More important than receiving physical healing is to receive spiritual life, believing that Jesus is the door to salvation, who paid for your sins and desires to have an intimate relationship with you.
