GOD’S LOVE

Prophecies, tongues and knowledge

will cease, be stilled and pass away.

Yet love and honey in eternal harmony

for they alone have no expiry date.

 

However, the root is all important.

Motive is prime.

Selfish love is soon exposed

while God’s love is sustained

in light and in darkness.

 

Living in love is a steadfast choice.

It doesn’t wilt in desert heat

or is blown off course by prevailing winds.

Never tempted by resplendent flowers

or flattering babbling brooks.

It stands firm on God’s Word

and imitates God’s character.

It’s here today and forever.

 

Jesus, You are love.

You never fail.

You always overcome

and You love me!
