Verse 1
Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles. 2 Chr 8:13
Solomon was faithful in following the commands in worshipping the LORD.
Verse 2
And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. Ex 32:4
The Israelites pressures Aaron to make them a golden idol to lead them into the Promised Land since Moses had not returned.
Verse 3
O LORD, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.Dan 9:7
Daniel intercedes for the Israelites, telling the LORD that they have sinned against Him.
Sound from Heaven: The masses may turn from God to false gods but there will always be a faithful remnant that will be obedient to God.
Solomon was faithful to the commands that were handed down to him, while Aaron succumbed to the pressures of the people when the circumstances were unfavourable and Daniel interceded from his people for the sins they had committed against the true God.
