HOW YOU LOVE ME

I BELIEVE YOU WEPT AND CRIED FOR ME
YOU BORE THE PAIN OF ALL MY SINFUL DAYS
AND I BELIEVE YOUR ARMS WERE OPENED WIDE
EVEN WHEN I TURNED AND WALKED AWAY

BUT NOW I KNOW YOU LOVE ME
OH HOW YOU DO
NOW ON MY KNEES I HUMBLY COME TO YOU
FOR NOW I KNOW YOU LOVE ME
I WANT TO THANK YOU LORD THIS DAY
SO ON MY KNEES I HUMBLY COME TO PRAY

YOU’RE MY LIFE, YOUR TRUTH WILL MAKE ME WHOLE
IF I OBEY AND COME AND FOLLOW YOU
AND YOU’RE THE PATH ON WHICH I MUST STAY
THERE’S FREEDOM AND GLORY THAT AWAITS

FOR NOW I KNOW HOW YOU LOVE ME
OH HOW YOU DO
NOW ON MY KNEES I HUMBLY COME TO YOU
YES I KNOW HOW YOU LOVE ME
I WANT TO THANK YOU LORD THIS DAY
SO ON MY KNEES I HUMBLY COME AND PRAY

LORD HELP ME TO LEARN TO TRUST AND OBEY
I AM WEARY FROM ALL MY PAST MISTAKES
PLEASE HELP ME TO BE ALL YOU WANT TO SEE
AND WITH YOUR LOVE I KNOW I’LL FIND THE WAY

CHORUS

OH I KNOW HOW YOU LOVE ME

Today, I received insight on Ephesians 3:19. “To know this love that surpasses knowledge.” How can one know this kind of love if it surpasses our understanding?

Joseph didn’t know, have sexual relations with Mary before Jesus’ birth (Mt 1:25 KJV). “To know this love,” cannot be gained through head knowledge such as the facts that Christ died on a cross for our sins, but only through intimacy, from experiences with Christ. Experience surpasses knowledge.

Many people knew Julia, my wife, but I experienced her in so many wonderful ways and through these experiences gained a deep love for her that others could never grasp. The same is true in discovering the width, length, height and depth of Christ’s love. Every time Christ answers our prayer or delivers us from a trial, we are experiencing His supernatural love. This should lead us to thankful intimacy with God; it is no wonder why Jesus prayed all night to His Father, for He said, “I do nothing on my own,” (Jn 8:28). Shouldn’t we, in response to the Holy Spirit’s guidance in our life, willingly desire to lay down our life for Him, in whatever circumstance He asks of us. The Father’s gift to us was giving us Jesus, while Jesus’ gift to us was His sacrifice on the cross and the Holy Spirit’s gift to us is the revelation of this love that surpasses knowledge.

Today, get intimate with Jesus and begin to experience the love that surpasses knowledge.
