EZEKIEL

Eze 48 THE LORD IS THERE
Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Eze 48:35

The distance all around will be 18,000 cubits. “And the name of the city from that time on will be: the Lord is there:” the circumference of Jerusalem in the days of Jesus was four miles whereas this new city would be just under six miles. The Lord exiled the evil men of Jerusalem for their idol worship Eze 11:9,18 but would have then return and would be their God Eze 11:20. The name of Jerusalem from that time on would be known as “The Lord is There”, a promise to be with His people forevermore.

Application: this section of Scripture describes the Millennial time when God will live with His people. The eternal state will be a continuation of this state with God dwelling with His people Rev 21:3. It is comforting to know that God keeps His promises Heb 13:5.

COME LORD JESUS

Eze 47 RIVER OF LIFE
Saturday, May 8, 2021.

Eze 47:9

Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live: the salt water depicted the home of spiritual dead people Eph 2:1-3 as no human can drink salt water but when the salt water empties into the sea it becomes fresh Eze 47:8. This symbolizes the power of the Gospel to change dead sinners into spiritual alive saints. The fish are the sinners and the fishermen evangelists Mt 4:19. Jesus pictured the Holy Spirit as this mighty river Jn 7:38,39, who is the source of all life Jn 6:63.

Application: God encourages us by describing future times when peace and righteousness will reign Rev 22:2. So, when despair rules our world let us be comforted with thoughts of a wonderful eternity with Christ.

Eze 46 FELLOWSHIP
Friday, May 7, 2021.

Eze 46:24

He said to me, “These are the kitchens where those who minister at the temple are to cook the sacrifices of the people:” In the Millennium fellowship goes hand in hand with worship. Kitchens are provided in the temple to accent the truth that God desired to fellowship intimately with His worshippers.

Application: in the early days of the Church age, the disciples met in homes and devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, remembrance of Christ and prayer Ac 2:42. God wants us not to separate worship and fellowship, it is an important part of the unity of the body.

Eze 45 DOING RIGHT
Thursday, May 6, 2021.

Eze 45:9

This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You have gone far enough, princes of Israel! Give up your violence and oppression and do what is just and right. Stop dispossessing my people, declares the Sovereign Lord: the leaders of Israel had been oppressing the people and God gave a stern warning that it must stop. He is a holy God, who is just and expected His people to imitate His ways. He laid out the rules for land inheritance Eze 45:1, the use of accurate scales Eze 45:10 and worship regulations Eze 45:15.

Application: God left us with a manual of how to live a righteous life and if we desire to please God we must be obedient to His Word 2 Ti 3:16.

BEAUTIFUL WORDS

.

Eze 44 SHEKINAH GLORY
Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

Eze 44:4

Then the man brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple. I looked and saw the glory of the Lord filling the temple of the Lord, and I fell facedown: The glory of the Lord appeared inside of the temple and Ezekiel fell facedown in reverence. God was allowing His sinful people another chance to be faithful to their Lord.

Application: we serve a merciful God which should result in a grateful heart. We deserve death but Jesus took our punishment and offers us eternal life. Our gratefulness should lead to an obedient lifestyle to show our Saviour that we appreciate His gift 2 Co 9:15.

ALL MY STRENGTH

.

Eze 43 INSTRUCTION
Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

Eze 43:12

This is the law of the temple: All the surrounding area on top of the mountain will be most holy. Such is the law of the temple: the word law here means instruction. For the rest of the book God will instruct the people on how to approach His holiness. He gave Ezekiel information about the temple to make the people feel ashamed. Even though they turned from God, He would return to them and build a great temple for them to worship Him again Eze 43:10,11.

Application: God is full of mercy as He demonstrated to sinful Israel by returning to them and He is merciful to every sinner who is distant to Him today. In Christ, there is forgiveness and eternal life, no matter how dark are your sins 1 Jn 1:9.

Eze 42 HOLY OFFERINGS
Monday, May 3, 2021.

Eze 42:13

Then he said to me, “The north and south rooms facing the temple courtyard are the priests’ rooms, where the priests who approach the Lord will eat the most holy offerings. There they will put the most holy offerings—the grain offerings, the sin offerings and the guilt offerings—for the place is holy: In the Millennium the priests will partake in fellowship and sin offerings in memorial to what Jesus accomplished at the Cross. Remembering that it was Jesus who made us holy.

Application: Just as we remember Christ’s sacrifice by taking the bread and the wine , the Jews will remember Christ saving act by offering a memorial of grain, sin and guilt offerings.

HOLY TO THE LORD

.

Eze 41 THE RIGHTEOUS LORD
Sunday, May 2, 2021.

 Eze 41:19

The face of a human being toward the palm tree on one side and the face of a lion toward the palm tree on the other. They were carved all around the whole temple:  The palm tree symbolized righteousness Ps 92:12 portraying the coming Messiah, while the human and lion were two of the four-sided living creatures Eze 1:10; Rev 4:7. These four faces represented Christ. Here, the man face represented Jesus as the Son of Man Lk 12:8, and the lion as the King of Judah Rev 5:5.

Application: The temple was the place to worship God. However, there will come a time when the temple will be replaced and we will worship God face to face in New Jerusalem Rev 21:22.

JESUS, I LOVE YOU

.

Eze 40 FUTURE TEMPLE
Saturday, May 1, 2021

Eze 40:4

The man said to me, “Son of man, look carefully and listen closely and pay attention to everything I am going to show you, for that is why you have been brought here. Tell the people of Israel everything you see:” The Lord showed Ezekiel visions of future Israel where buildings like a city were constructed Eze 40:2. A man exhorted Ezekiel to pay attention to the details he would show him for Israel’s benefit. What the angel described was a fabulous temple in specifics, which can only mean that this was meant to be followed as a blueprint to construct in the future.

Application: Christians were given a memorial to practice to remember Jesus’ sacrifice––the Lord’s supper. Since the Jews rejected Jesus at His first coming, they will have a memorial to remember their Messiah’s finished work also. The sacrifices will point back to Jesus giving His life for them and allow much adoration and thanksgiving for Jesus’ wonderful redemptive act.

Eze 39 THE GLORY OF GOD
Friday, April 30, 2021.

Eze 39:11

On that day I will give Gog a burial place in Israel, in the valley of those who travel east of the Sea. It will block the way of travelers, because Gog and all his hordes will be buried there. So it will be called the Valley of Hamon Gog: God prophesied that Gog will be judged harshly, to the point that the dead bodies will block the path of travellers. It will take seven months for Israel to bury all the bodies to clean their land Eze 39:12. This is how God will display His glory Eze 39:13.

Application: It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God Heb 10:31. God is patient not wanting anyone to perish 2 Pe 3:9 but people shouldn’t take God’s longsuffering as weakness for He is also a righteous God who will deliver justice to all Isa 30:18.

GLORIOUS LORD

.

Eze 38 THE ATTACK OF GOG
Thursday, April 29, 2021.

Eze 38:11

You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars: God prophesied that Gog with many allies Eze 38:5,6 will attack Israel to plunder and loot the people. But God will execute judgment on Gog and her allies Eze 38:22 and demonstrate to the many nations that He is Lord Eze 38:23.

Application: God is all powerful and sovereign. Whatever He prophesies will come true. No matter how dark things appear to be, in the end there will be justice for all and those that love Him will live in peace forever Rev 21:3,4.

THE LORD MOST HIGH

.

Eze 37 DEAD BONES
Wednesday, April 28, 2021.

 Eze 37:5

This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life: God used dead bones to portray the present spiritual condition of His people Israel. He told Ezekiel to prophesy to the dead bones. Breath entered them and they came to life—a vast army Eze 37:10. There hope had vanished but God would put His Spirit in them and bring them back to their land Eze 37:11,12,14. The Lord promised to dwell with His people Eze 37:27.

Application: God wants to have a relationship with His creation. He offers eternal life for all who place their faith in Christ’s sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. Just as He can take dead bones and raise them to physical life, He can take spiritual dead people and breathe in eternal life Isa 42:5.

I WILL WAIT

Eze 36 HEART OF FLESH
Tuesday, April 27, 2021.

Eze 36:26

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh: God prophesied that in the future He would change His people’s heart from a cold, sinful, dead one to a passionate, loving, godly heart. This could only happen when the Messiah, Jesus Christ came and took away their sins Isa 59:20.

Application: our response to God’s gift should be a grateful heart that is willing to love and serve God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind Lk 10:27.

HEART OF PRAISE

.

Eze 35 EVIL PUNISHED
Monday, April 26, 2021.

Eze 35:6

Therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you: Edom was hostile to Israel and thus God declared their destruction Eze 35:5. Edom did not fear the Lord and was planning to take possession of God’s people resulting in judgment.

Application: whenever we plot evil, we are plotting against God. If He doesn’t punish our behaviour in the near future, He will at the great white throne Rev 20:11,12. God desires us to reach out to the downtrodden rather than to take advantage of them.

BUT A SMALL VOICE

.

Eze 34 THE GOOD SHEPHERD
Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Eze 34:2

“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? God was upset with Israel’s leaders. They were only looking out for their own interests and unconcerned about the condition of the people. The Lord prophesied that He would place over Israel, His Servant David Eze 34:23, which was foreshadowing the ultimate shepherd––Jesus Christ Jn 10:14,15.

Application: The Lord exhorted us to be concerned with the interests of others and not only our affairs Php 2:4. He sent Jesus to be our example of how to love one another. Let us strive to be more like Jesus every day 2 Co 3:18.

MY SHEPHERD

Eze 33 DOERS OF THE WORD
Saturday, April 24, 2021.

Eze 33:32

Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice: God compared Ezekiel to a musician who entertains the people. Israel listened to his song, applauded but did not heed the message. God explained to Ezekiel he had to warn the people of their sin; he did, thus he has fulfilled his task and the people will be punished for not responding to the message Eze 33:7,8.

Application: the Bible warns us of many things to avoid and to do. If we only read these words but fail to put them into practice, we can expect the same result that Israel experienced––judgment. We are to be doers of the Word, not just hearers Jas 1:22.

I DO IT

Eze 32 JUSTICE COMING
Friday, April 23, 2021.

 Eze 32:2

“Son of man, take up a lament concerning Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him: “‘You are like a lion among the nations; you are like a monster in the seas thrashing about in your streams, churning the water with your feet and muddying the streams: God described Pharaoh king of Egypt like a lion among the nationsa monster in the seas. However, God would bring down Egypt and allow the other nations to feast upon her as wild animals gorge themselves on dead prey Eze 32:4.

Application: the wicked may enjoy a short time of superiority but all will be judged and will suffer eternal consequences for their actions Ac 17:31; Rev 20:15.

.

Eze 31 HAVING THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE
Thursday, April 22, 2021.

Eze 31:12

And the most ruthless of foreign nations cut it down and left it. Its boughs fell on the mountains and in all the valleys; its branches lay broken in all the ravines of the land. All the nations of the earth came out from under its shade and left it: God used the illustration of a magnificent tree that was cut down to compare what happened to Assyria to what would befall Egypt. Whenever a nation became proud, God would humble her by having an enemy nation destroy her.

Application: if you think you are secure and become arrogant be careful least you fall 1 Co 10:12. God is the Potter and we are the clay. Can the clay question the Potter’s will Ro 9:20? We are servants of God and must focus on doing God’s will, not looking to our own interests 2 Ti 4:2; Lk 17:10.

Eze 30 PROUD PUNISHED
Wednesday, April 21, 2021.

 Eze 30:24

I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a mortally wounded man: God prophesied that He would use Nebuchadnezzar to defeat Egypt and bring down the Pharaoh. Egypt had been proud of her strength but God will now bring her down.

Application: Pride will destroy one Pr 16:18. God resists proud people but He will give grace to the humble Jas 4:6. Keep me humble Lord that I may be pleasing in Your eyes.

Eze 29 EGYPT: A WASTELAND
Tuesday, April 20, 2021.

Eze 29:9

Egypt will become a desolate wasteland. Then they will know that I am the Lord. “‘Because you said, “The Nile is mine; I made it,: Egypt became arrogant saying that she made the Nile and it belonged to her. God would demonstrate that He made the Nile and it belonged to Him by making Egypt a wasteland. Israel relied on Egypt as an ally, but now Egypt would no longer be a source of help, reminding Israel of their sin of not trusting in the Lord Eze 29:16.

Application: we can easily forget to trust in the Lord and rely on others or our finances and find out that they have become a wasteland. Only God is able to guarantee victory 1 Co 15:57.

I’LL TRUST IN YOU

.

Eze 28 PRIDE
Monday, April 19, 2021.

 Eze 28:17

Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kingsthe ruler of Tyre became proud due to his success acquiring wealth. Satan was a beautiful creation who was given a prestigious position; however he became discontent serving God and pride led to his downfall Pr 16:18.

Application: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble Jas 4:6. To protect oneself from pride develop a grateful heart Ps 9:1. Be content in all circumstances Php 4:11,12,13. Be compassionate toward others 2 Co 1:3,4.

Eze 27 SHIPWRECKED
Sunday, April 18, 2021.

Eze 27:34

Now you are shattered by the sea in the depths of the waters your wares and all your company have gone down with you: Tyre had shipwrecked her faith through arrogance and beauty. God pronounced judgment on her. Everything of value would sink into the heart of the sea Eze 27:27. Tyre would be no more!

Application: Paul mentioned that Hymenaeus and Alexander had shipwrecked their faith by turning away from God’s ways 1 Ti 1:19,20. Let us not become proud like Tyre or unfaithful like Hymenaeus and Alexander for in due time we will reap our reward Gal 6:9.

Eze 26 ANCIENT RUINS
Saturday, April 17, 2021.

Eze 26:19

This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When I make you a desolate city, like cities no longer inhabited, and when I bring the ocean depths over you and its vast waters cover you: Tyre believed that she would prosper because Jerusalem was lying in ruins. The Lord warned Tyre that He would bring many nations against her––destroying her, making her a bare rock beneath the sea Eze 26:3,4.

Application: Pride was Satan’s downfall and it seeks to bring all the arrogant into bondage. Dying to self is the only armor that can protect one from pride Jas 4:6.

Eze 25 VENGEANCE
Friday, April 16, 2021.

Eze 25:17

I will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I take vengeance on them: God reminded believers that He will repay evil people for His mercy is balanced with justice Ro 12:19. Judah’s enemies did not repent and now will be the time to avenge their losses.

Application: Judas thought he had chosen the winning side but later realized his foolishness, but by then it was too late Mt 27:4. Remember, God will not be mocked for every man will reap what he sows Gal 6:7.

EVERYDAY I LOVE YOU MORE

.

Eze 24 ALLEGORY
Thursday, April 15, 2021.

Eze 24:18

So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. The next morning I did as I had been commanded: God used Ezekiel’s life to demonstrate to His people the pain they would suffer. Ezekiel was told that his wife was going to suddenly die but He was not to mourn for her Eze 24:15,16,17. The reason was to convey to the people that God had taken His peace from Israel and they would be punished while God did nothing to intervene Jer 16:5.

Application: How hard this must have been for Ezekiel, who tenderly loved his wife and yet was not allowed to grieve for her. Jesus grieved for Lazarus Jn 11:35. This showed us the degree of loyalty God requires from all of His servants. I am sure Ezekiel will have an eternity to enjoy with his helpmate and be rewarded greatly for His faithfulness to the Lord. Let me also be faithful and demonstrate my loyalty to You, Lord.

WONDERFUL TO ME

Eze 23 PROSTITUTES: SAMARIA and JERUSALEM
Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

Eze 23:18

When she carried on her prostitution openly and exposed her naked body, I turned away from her in disgust, just as I had turned away from her sister: the Lord used Oholah and her sister Oholibah as representatives of Samaria and Jerusalem Eze 23:4. They engaged in prostitution Eze 23:5,11 just as Samaria and Jerusalem turned away from God to idols and lewdness. The Lord had no other alternative but to punish Israel for her sinful behaviour and to warn the people of the consequences of rebellion Eze 23:48,49.

Application: to disobey God is to be in open rebellion to Him. We, as the Bride of Christ have been promised to Christ 2 Co 11:2, therefore let us live up to our high calling and be faithful to the Lord in all that we do.

Eze 22 POURING OUT WRATH
Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

Eze 22:22

As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted inside her, and you will know that I the Lord have poured out my wrath on you: Jerusalem was to be God’s agent to shine light onto the world. However, they were as detestable as the other nations and thus God will refine her through the fire. His wrath is poured out in order to wake Israel up to her calling.

Application: are we fulfilling our calling or are we in danger of experiencing God’s wrath? We were called to work with the Holy Spirit in holy harmony to be a blessing to the world. Let God lead and follow in obedience to fulfill the purpose we were created for and store up heavenly rewards rather than fiery judgment 1 Co 3:13.

Eze 21 LIGHTNING SWORD
Monday, April 12, 2021.

Eze 21:28

“And you, son of man, prophesy and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says about the Ammonites and their insults: “‘A sword, a sword, drawn for the slaughter, polished to consume and to flash like lightning: the Lord prophesied that He would destroy the arrogant Ammonites. An interesting point is the mention of a sword that would flash like lightning. God mentioned a flaming sword which would keep Adam from the tree of life Gen 3:24. Both contain the idea of judgment with lightning triggering Satan’s judgment Lk 10:18.

Application: God promises to give to each, his just reward Ro 2:6. I much prefer Jesus to say well done good and faithful servant Mt 25:23 rather than I never knew you, depart from me Mt 7:23.

.

Eze 20 JUDGMENT
Sunday, April 11, 2021.

Eze 20:47

Say to the southern forest: ‘Hear the word of the Lord. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am about to set fire to you, and it will consume all your trees, both green and dry. The blazing flame will not be quenched, and every face from south to north will be scorched by it: the elders wanted to inquire of God but because of their rebellious nature He refused Eze 20:3. He then explained the history of His people and their tendency to worship false gods and the need for the Lord to discipline them. He now told the current generation that He would be sending judgment upon the entire nation both good and bad so that they would know He is Lord of all.

Application: I know that God is Almighty, Ruler of all, King of kings and Lord of lords. I reverently fear the Lord and want to please Him. I don’t want to worship false gods but delight in doing the Lord’s will. I thank You, Father for the opportunity to be an ambassador for Christ and ask You to use my gifts to further Your kingdom.

Eze 19 TWO LAMENTS
Saturday, April 10,2021.

Eze 19:5

When she saw her hope unfulfilled, her expectation gone, she took another of her cubs and made him a strong lion: the mother is Jerusalem and the cubs were her kings. Jehoahaz or Shallum reigned only a few months but his reign was evil as he devoured men Jer 22:10,11,12; 2 Ki 23:30,31,32. Shortly after he was placed in prison in Egypt 2 Ki 23:33. Jehoiachin followed as king and was also evil devouring the people. He was later taken prisoner to Babylon Eze 19:9. Ezekiel was to sing these two laments to make the people aware of God’s judgment on their evil kings.

Application: The Bible teaches that we will reap what we have sown Gal 6:7. Let us learn from Israel’s mistakes and avoid God’s judgment.

Eze 18 PROVERB
Friday, April 9, 2021.

Eze 18:2

“What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: “‘The parents eat sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’? God corrected the meaning of the proverb about the land of Israel. The people were saying that if the parent’s sin, their children would also pay the penalty of sin. However, God rectified this misunderstanding by stating that the one who sins is the one who will die Eze 18:4. Therefore if the children did not participate in their parent’s sin, then they would not be held accountable. Each person will be responsible for his or her behaviour.

Application: Psychology would like to make excuses for the evil behaviour of children by blaming it on the family’s parenting. Even if they were poor examples for their children’s behaviour God still holds each person responsible for their actions. No one should blame another for their sin Jas 1:14,15.

Eze 17 TRUSTING GOD
Thursday, April 8, 2021.

 Eze 17:7

But there was another great eagle with powerful wings and full plumage. The vine now sent out its roots toward him from the plot where it was planted and stretched out its branches to him for water: the first eagle represented the King of Babylon while Judah was Lebanon Eze 17:3. The topmost shoot depicted Judah’s king––Jehoiachin Eze 17:4. His offspring, Zedekiah made a covenant with the King of Babylon. To make sure Zedekiah kept the covenant, Jehoiachin and others were exiled to Babylon Eze 17:12, 13,14. But Zedekiah rebelled by asking Egypt, the second eagle to be their ally Eze 17:15. God informed Judah that He would punish Zedekiah for breaking the oath with Babylon but also with Him Eze 17:20.

Application: God wanted Judah to trust in Him not in Egypt’s horses or man’s power, but Judah refused and was judged. We need to trust in God rather than human institutions like our government. Only God can deliver victory!

I WILL TRUST

.

Eze 16 JERUSALEM IS A PROSTITUTE
Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Eze 16:41

They will burn down your houses and inflict punishment on you in the sight of many women. I will put a stop to your prostitution, and you will no longer pay your lovers: the Lord prophesied what would happen to His adulterous wife Eze 16:32. Not only did Judah prostitute herself but paid her lovers Eze 16:33. She wasn’t satisfied with one lover, so she engaged with many, who used her Eze 16:27,28,29. Judah will be punished for her breaking of God’s covenant, but despite the Lord’s anger, He will make an everlasting covenant with her Eze 16:38,59,60.

Application: it breaks my heart to see God’s jealous anger in action. I want to be a faithful helpmate and not disappoint God in all that I do. My hope is to hear the positive statement, “well done faithful servant” Mt 25:23. Help me Holy Spirit to give my best as I play my part.

Eze 15 DESTRUCTION
Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

Eze 15:8

I will make the land desolate because they have been unfaithful, declares the Sovereign Lord: the Lord is disappointed in His people because of their unfaithfulness and prophesied destruction to make them aware of His presence.

Application: to get our attention God sometimes has to let us experience destruction before we recognize our unfaithfulness to Him. Let us learn from the Israelites experience o that we don’t have to experience judgment in our lives 1 Co 10:11.

Eze 14 REPENT
Monday, April 5, 2021.

Eze 14:6

“Therefore, say to the people of Israel, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices: God doesn’t want to punish the people so He gives them the opportunity to repent. Unfortunately, they are stubborn and refuse to change leaving God with no choice except judgment.

Application: The Lord is long-suffering and if we are wise, we will heed His command to repent of our wrongdoing. God’s laws are for our benefit, not to limit our freedom. A train has true freedom only if it stays on the rails––unlimited freedom would be disastrous.

Eze 13 WHITEWASHED WALLS
Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Eze 13:14

I will tear down the wall you have covered with whitewash and will level it to the ground so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you will be destroyed in it; and you will know that I am the Lord: the prophets of Israel were fooling the people telling them that peace was in the future when the reality was that God was going to judge them Eze 13:10. Their whitewashed walls were going to fall much like them. They looked good on the outside but on the inside were wicked Mt 23:27.

Application: there will always be evil liars. They existed in  the days of Jesus and today are highly respected preachers with mega congregations. God had wrath planned for those false prophets in Ezekiel’s days and He will do the same to today’s charlatans.

Eze 12 PROPHECIES SOON FULFILLED
Saturday, April 3, 2021.

 Eze 12:23

Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am going to put an end to this proverb, and they will no longer quote it in Israel.’ Say to them, ‘The days are near when every vision will be fulfilled: the people of Jerusalem did not believe that God was about to judge them so He had Ezekiel act out what would soon happen to the king Eze 12:11. Then He told them the proverb they always quote they would no longer quote for judgment would be coming soon.

Application: we are on the brink of seeing God’s judgment on evil today. Satan will never defeat God Rev 20:10.

Eze 11 DECEIVERS
Friday, April 2, 2021.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Eze11Pot.jpg

Eze 11:3

They say, ‘Haven’t our houses been recently rebuilt? This city is a pot, and we are the meat in it: after the people had been exiled to Babylon, Jeremiah had prophesied to build houses as they would be in captive for a long time Jer 29:4,5. The people left at Jerusalem mocked God’s prophecies telling the people the opposite. They would build houses in Jerusalem for God was not going to destroy them, as the city was a pot¾their protection from the fire of the enemy.  Ezekiel had a different interpretation from God. Their city was a pot and the dead that these leaders were responsible for were the meat and God would rid Himself of their leaders Eze 11:7.

Application: to intentionally interpret God’s Word falsely will eventually bring strong judgment upon any false teacher Jas 3:1. To lead others astray is much worse than allowing yourself to be deceived. God will not be mocked as each will receive their just reward Gal 6:7.

Eze 10:4

Then the glory of the Lord rose from above the cherubim and moved to the threshold of the temple. The cloud filled the temple, and the court was full of the radiance of the glory of the Lord: this cloud was known as the Shekinah Glory and is mentioned quite often in the Bible. The Israelites were led by it in the wilderness Ex 13:21,22. God spoke to Moses in the cloud Ex 19:9. It was present at the door of the tabernacle Ex 33:9,10. The disciples saw it when Jesus was transfigured Lk 9:34,35. Jesus ascending into it after his resurrection Ac 1:9.

Application: even though we may not see the Shekinah Glory in our lifetime, we have the sure promise that the Holy Spirit lives in us forever Jn 14:16.ALL MY STRENGTH

 Eze 9:4

“Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it: God has used marks throughout the Bible to separate men. Cain was given a mark so that if anyone found him, they would not kill him Gen 4:14,15. To avoid death, the Lord told the Israelites to mark the doorframes, as the blood would be a sign to pass over their houses Ex 12:7,12,13. The 144,000 virgins had the mark of the Father and Jesus on their foreheads Rev 14:1,4. Those that took the mark of the beast on their forehead or hand would face the torment of burning sulphur Rev 14:9,10.

Application: We are getting very close to the final damning mark of the beast. The vaccine passport is preparing us for the one world digital currency and the eventual mark of the beast where we won’t be able to buy or sell without this mark Rev 13:16,17.

Eze 8:12

He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? They say, ‘The Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land:  The elders believed that because Judah wasn’t delivered by the Lord, He wasn’t around to watch them worship idols hoping to win their favor. However, the Lord sees all and will not have pity on them, even if they cry out to Him Eze 8:18.

Application: Israel didn’t think God could see their idolatry and we believe the same, for if we were aware of the Lord’s presence, how could we sin in front of Him? Pretending that the Holy Spirit isn’t seeing what we’re doing, even though He lives inside of us is even more mindless than the Israelites folly.HE LIVES IN YOU

 Eze 7:10

See, the day! See, it comes! Doom has burst forth, the rod has budded, arrogance has blossomed: God used Ezekiel to spread His message that the people of Israel had become arrogant and had turned to false gods and therefore had earned judgment.

Application: God resists the proud but to the humble extends grace Jas 4:6. Jesus’ desire is to live His live through a submitted soul Gal 2:20. The result is the reflection of His character 2 Co 3:18 to the lost world, giving them the opportunity to see their potential, if they humble themselves.LET ME LIVE

 Eze 6:9

Then in the nations where they have been carried captive, those who escape will remember me—how I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols: God will have His people exiled for their adulterous hearts; however, some will be spared death and will be scattered among the nations Eze 6:8.

They will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices: after rebellion comes judgment, but after judgment comes repentance. Whenever, God finds true repentance, He forgives and restores that relationship.

Application: we are born separated from God because of Adam’s sin Ro 5:12. In God’s great compassion He sent Jesus to provide a way back to Him. If you have been serving false gods turn to Jesus and receive God’s forgiveness as His will is that none should perish 2 Pe 3:9.YOU STILL LOVE ME

Eze 5:7

Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: You have been more unruly than the nations around you and have not followed my decrees or kept my laws. You have not even conformed to the standards of the nations around you: Judah was supposed to set an example for all the other nations to demonstrate the greatness of her God. However, instead of being the bright light, her lifestyle was worse than the surrounding neighbour’s. God   disciplined her wickedness to remind His people that obedience is required Eze 5:13.

Application: we should never forget that God is in control of all events and our purpose is to obey His will, if we don’t, we can expect the same type of discipline as Judah received.HOW YOU LOVE ME

Eze 4:15

“Very well,” he said, “I will let you bake your bread over cow dung instead of human excrement:” Ezekiel objected Eze 4:14 to God’s command to bake his bread using human excrement as fuel Eze 4:12. Remarkably God relented and granted Ezekiel’s request Eze 4:15.

Application: God has a reason for every command He orders, however, He sometimes will accommodate our requests such as when Moses said he was slow at speech so God allowed Aaron to be his voice Ex 4:14,15. It is important to remember if God chooses us for a mission He will supply all that is necessary for the victory.HIS LOVE NEVER FAILS

Eze 3:23

So I got up and went out to the plain. And the glory of the Lord was standing there, like the glory I had seen by the Kebar River, and I fell facedown: Ezekiel had a second encounter with the glory of God and immediately fell to his knees.

Application: Ezekiel showed his reverence for the Lord and even though I haven’t seen the glory of the Lord, I need to learn from Ezekiel’s experience and venerate the Lord.HE IS MARVELOUS

 Eze 2:6

And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people: God warned Ezekiel that the people of Judah were wicked and would try to intimidate him, especially if he was delivering a message of repentance for their rebellious ways. However, God had Ezekiel’s back and therefore nothing to fear.

Application: when I am doing God’s will there is no reason to fear for God will protect me from all harm Ps 91:9,10.HE IS LOVE

Eze 1 FOUR LIVING CREATURES

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Eze1Vision.jpg

 Eze 1:10

Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a human being, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle: Ezekiel catches a glance of the glory of God. These four creatures are also seen in heaven Rev 4:7,8 and they worship God Rev 19:4 including Jesus, proving He is God Rev 5:13,14.

The four faces interestingly represented Jesus in the four Gospels: Matthew was written to the Jews which depicted the Lord as the King of the Jews—the Lion of Judah Rev 5:5; while the lion is the king of the wild animals. In Mark, Jesus is depicted as the Servant of God which the ox represented—man’s greatest domestic helper. Luke portrayed Jesus as the Son of Man, which the head of a human demonstrated. Finally, John presented Jesus as the Son of God which the eagle symbolized by its soaring in the high heavens.

Application: the four living creatures worshipped God continually and was obedient to His will. If these magnificent creatures served God flawlessly, then we should strive to do likewise.PSALM OF PRAISE
