LIKE A BUTTERFLY

I WAS MOVING THROUGH THIS LIFE

TAKING WHAT I COULD DIRECTED ONLY BY MY WILL

I WAS ALWAYS SEARCHING LORD

HUNGRY FOR SOMETHING BUT I NEVER GOT MY FILL

NOW LIKE A BUTTERFLY I AM REBORN

AND I TOUCH THE SKY

OH LORD JUST LIKE A BUTTERFLY

YOU GIVE ME WINGS THROUGH YOUR SACRIFICE

I WAS ONCE LOST

CRAWLING THROUGH EACH DAY BUT I WAS NEVER CONTENT

THEN WHEN YOU CALLED ME LORD

TO REST IN YOU AND REFLECT YOUR MAGNIFICENCE

CHORUS

BRIDGE

MY GOD, WE ARE THE WONDERS OF YOUR HANDS

AND FROM THE BEGINNING ALL CREATION YOU COMMAND

YOU ASKED ME TO DIE TO SELF

SO THAT I WOULD BECOME A CHILD OF GOD THROUGH YOU

CASTING OFF THE OLD

AND EMBRACING ALL THE GLORY OF YOUR TRUTH

CHORUS 2X

New birth begins when we receive Christ. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here (2 Co 5:17)! The word metamorphosis is used in the Bible to describe transformation. We are being transformed into God’s image more and more (2 Co 3:18). We are told to be transformed by renewing our minds to God’s truth (Ro 12:2). We are no longer earthbound like the caterpillar, which can only crawl in the mud for we have been metamorphosed. Our new life is in the heavenlies (Eph 1:3), where we can soar far above to reflect God’s magnificence.
