SIGNIFICANT NUMBERS: CARBON vs OXYGEN
The number 6 represents man, since he was created on the sixth day (Gen 1:27,31). The number 6 is one short of 7 which is God’s perfect/holy or complete number as He rested on the 7th day after completing all of His work (Gen 2:3).
Carbon is the 6th element in the periodic chart and contains 6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons. Carbon is found in dirt which God used to form Adam (Gen 2:7) and is 18% of man’s make up, the second largest element amount found in man.
Oxygen is the 8th element in the periodic table and contains 8 protons, 8 neutrons and 8 electrons. Oxygen is what man breathes to survive. God breathed in Adam the breath of life (Gen 2:7) to give him physical existence. Oxygen is 65% of man’s make up, the largest element amount found in man.
Jesus is the giver of eternal life (Jn 3:16) and His number 888 is calculated by adding together the Greek letters of His name (10+8+200+70+400+200=888). Jewish babies had to be circumcised on the 8thday (Lk 2:21). The number 7 completed the creation cycle. The next number was the beginning of a new era. Jesus was resurrected on the 1stday of the week (Jn 20:1,16) or the 8th day since this began a new era. Eight people were saved in the flood to begin a new era (1 Pe 3:20).
The beast’s number is 666, which represents ultimate imperfection/death, containing three 6’s, strengthening the number’s significance. Man’s body was made from dust and will return to dust when he dies (Gen 3:19). Whereas Jesus breathes in His Holy Spirit (Jn 20:22), who is a deposit from God guaranteeing our inheritance of eternal life (Eph 1:13,14).
