TURN AROUND AND THE TIME GOES
IT QUICKLY PASSES AS WE ALL KNOW
BUT WHEN I LOOK AND SEE WHERE I HAVE GONE
I KNOW WITHOUT YOU IT WOULD NOT BE DONE
SO I THANK YOU
I WANNA THANK YOU
YOU WALKED BESIDE ME TO REACH MY DREAMS
AND I JUST WANT TO SAY
THANK YOU
THERE WAS LAUGHTER AND SOMETIMES TEARS
SO MANY HELPING HANDS THROUGH ALL THE YEARS
WE DANCED AND WORKED TO BRING A RAY OF LIGHT
FOR FRIGHTENED CHILDREN IN THE DARKEST NIGHT
CHORUS
IF I NEVER TOOK THE TIME TO SAY
YOU TOUCHED SO MANY HEARTS IN SPECIAL WAYS
YOU GAVE US ALL WINGS TO FLY
AND SPECIAL MOMENTS IN SO MANY LIVES
BRIDGE (mm-hu hum)
CHORUS
God had placed the orphans of Uganda on my heart and through eight years of fundraising and support from the students and teachers of Westview Secondary in Maple Ridge, BC, I was able to raise over $50,000, culminating with a trip to Uganda and the opening of March Christian School, a home for 162 poorest of the poor children. Julia wrote this song for my retirement party that I shared with my fellow teachers, thanking them for helping me live out my dream to be used by God to help the poor in this suffering world.
